Walking
Talking
Holding hands
In my mind
A heart that understands
I seek in you and find.

Poems from the inner river
Let‘s try this
We won‘t kiss
But our lips
Will form words that touch
More intimately
That our hips
Could ever meet.

Poems from the inner river
While I was searching
For the right words to say to you
You smilingly healed my hurting
With the wordless things you do.

Poems from the inner river
I told you
I would find you
And then I went inside
And there You were
Hidden but bonafide
Inside me everywhere.

Poems from the inner river
Have you seen
Have you been
Did you mean
You’re my queen
Your wide smile
Goes with me the extra mile
Does it mean
You’re my queen.
The house is clean
The grass is green
I can’t deny or complain
You are my queen.

Poems from the inner river
More lies are told with silence
than with words.
More truths are stored in silence
than in words.
Yet we keep on talking
And saying all the things we don’t mean
The rest is stored in silence
Unheard and unseen.

Poems from the inner river
There are too many things In my heart For which I don’t have words - Some are chains, some are wings, Some please, some hurt, Some are shields, some are swords. All are a part of the challenge in me, Hurting me, holding me, healing me. Che Chidi Chukwumerije Poems from the inner river
Don‘t tell me your religion,
Show me your personality,
Your character, your reason
For being, your inner reality.

Poems from the inner river
Don‘t think twice
It only comes once
Take it the first time
It is your last chance.

Feelings in red
Dealings in bed
Healings instead
