DUSKY

The wooded streets
heavy laden with evening tears
The dusk is wet with wanting
well within her weathered years
where everything longing meets
maturity already wears
with a battered beauty so haunting
for the bruises it softly bears.

NO HOLDING BACK

Do your poem
Like you do your woman
Like you do your man

Strong and Tender
Deep and Intense
Lovingly dismember
In the present tense

No holding back
Do your poem
Like you do them
That love you back.

WHAT WE REALLY SEE

Nobody ever walks down the street,
Everybody always walks through their own world.
Nobody ever looks at the world,
Everybody always looks at an image in their mind.

Nobody lives outside
Everybody lives inside
Inside their own head, inside their own heart
Until you see what a person is looking at
In the core of their being
You’ll never know what they are seeing
When they are looking at you.

SEEMINGLY A FOOL

You will always seem like a fool
If you don’t shout the slogans the others yell.
Hidden are the factors that rule
The manifestation of events, and only few can tell
How the Law of Reciprocal Action
As explained by Abd-ru-shin moderates everything -
The outcome of every interaction
Between us and our Free-Will our destiny must bring.

WHAT DO YOI REALLY WANT?

Imagine if the only way God could save you

Was by letting you continue to search and to suffer –

Would you still continue to beg Him to save you?

Or would you ask the devil to make you an offer?

NO MATTER

No matter
How many times I get used,
I still can never get used
To getting used.

No matter how often
Fake people take a liking
To me, I never take a liking
To their liking.

No matter
How often I be in love,
I will never fall in love
While standing in love.

NO HOME AWAY

I walk through the valley of pain on my own

By the time friends come I’m already gone

I am All the colours between black and brown

Call me Africa or call me Diaspora, a birded song

Fly without perching, there’s no home away from home.

HEART OF GOLD

There is a part
of your world -
Inside your heart -
It is Gold.

Beware of the gold-diggers
Beware of the prospectors
Remember Ghana or the Incas
Protect the gold inside your heart.

WHY?

I cannot handle lies
like hot mounds of yam on a plate
smoking squinted eyes
thoughtfully tonguing open the gate
of questioning Whys
where Truth comes never or too late
to hear my heart’s cries.

I LOVE A LOT

For the sake of love
I love a lot
For the sake of the love
which once I got
I love to love and love a lot
Without a plan, without a plot
Just for the sake of the love
which once upon a time I got
and never again forgot.
