A FEELING OF WARMTH

A bright new day
And yet there’s no sun
Because the light
Is a feeling of warmth
Within my heart.

To let go of pain
Is a human feat
You will love again
We part to meet
And meet to part.

There’s a rainbow
Universal, not a slogan
Or a flag. A Hello
Of Hope for everyone
Eternity’s chart.

Heaven’s memory song
How great Thou art.

THE THINGS YOU SAID

You cannot grow back a flower that’s dead
You cannot stick back leaves already shed
My mind has heard, my heart has bled
You cannot take back the things you said.

SILENT PLANETS

Some things are just not meant to be
How ever hard you try to bring them about
With a whimper, with a whisper, with a shout

There is a planet
Running away from a ray of light
Coming from another planet
Running in the other direction of night.
They will never see each other
Even though they sense that somewhere
Another lonely planet is also out there.

No whimper, no whisper, no shout -
Silence is the satire of doubt.

THE STRANGE CHANGE

When the person you knew
disappears and is no more
than memories and pictures
and daily through the door
a stranger now in and out walks
while in the old voice of before
this stranger also with you talks
welcome to disorientation shore.

People really change,
it is no myth -
Experience totally today
the person you’re now with -
No human truly stays
a monolith.

THE DEEP DEEP MOMENTS

The Deep Deep Moments – Che Chidi

Which is worse, to lose your job
Or to lose your integrity?
Well one day you might have
To make that choice…
Now which would you choose,
To be employed or to be yourself?
If one day you just had
To make that choice

‘Cause the deep deep moments in human life
Will come upon you every once in a while
The deep deep moments in human life
Will come upon you every once in a while

Nobody can advice you,
It is your own path
It is your own destiny
And one day you’re gonna have to make that choice…
Nobody should stand before such a choice
Yet everybody will face it
Some day, somewhere,
Somehow…

The deep deep moments in human life
Will come upon you every once in a while
The deep deep moments in human life
Will come upon you every once in a while

(whistle / hum / sax)

May be your job, may be your blood
Your best friend, your husband or your wife
One day something important will stand between you
And the values in your life

The deep deep moments in human life
Will come upon you every once in a while
I say, the deep deep moments in human life
Will come upon you every once in a while

They will come upon you, they will come upon you
They will come upon you every once in a while.
I say they will come upon you, they will come upon you
They will come upon you every once in a while.

BADLY

I‘m hurting so badly
It’s driving me mad
And making me sad
I’ll take the bend gladly.

Footsteps On The Sands Of Time

Kwame Ekwueme Chukwumerije 1975 – 1995

Kwame, you would have turned 47 today, but that dream died a long time ago. You didn‘t even quite make it out of teenage.
But, brother, your few poems have long made it unto the pages of our hearts for all eternity, like footsteps on the sands of time.

GENTLY TREAD

Just because I‘m alive doesn‘t mean I‘m not dead
Just because I‘m talking doesn’t mean anything has been said
Just because I‘m lost doesn’t mean I‘m not being led

You might still be hungry, even after you‘ve been fed,
when you’ve been fed stones instead of bread

Those who heal wounds today, have also once bled.

MIND THE MOMENT

Your time will always pass
And it will pass at a time
Least convenient to you
Just as it came at a time
Not quite expected by you
And lasted for a length of time
Unappreciated by you.

BOYS TO MEN

The older I get,
The more I miss my father.
The more knowing I grow,
The more I miss him.
The more I know him.
The more I understand him.
We live life forwards,
But understand life backwards.
When it‘s too late to change anything,
That’s when we understand everything.
The young shall grow.
