Help comes in its own time And in its own way Often it prefers an irregular rhyme Your tomorrow is its today You hear the echo and miss the chime How loudly did you pray? Treasure the sour bitterness of lime It is sweetness in delay. Che Chidi Chukwumerije Poems from the inner river
Of Seeking
AI CANNOT SATISFY
AI Cannot satisfy The longing for reality The thirst for humanity It can only replicate duplicate Reiterate concentrate elucidate Our past in all its profusion The sum of all our confusion Neatly packaged in a way That appeals to our Today But it will not give us anything new. The future is still the spirit’s purview. If we want the new then we must Do what we have in the past Always done to grow: Let go of the past. Raising the intuition above the intellect We much reach deep within our depths And pull the new out from ourselves Because there is a magic that flows from Above Into our Intuition, our secret treasure trove. COME CLOSER
I don’t like to get too near to people Because it pushes me far away from them; When you get really close to the moon, You see a gloomy rock, not a glowing gem. Yet, courage!, wanderer, be bold of heart! One who will find must seek everywhere, Must brave the ugly to discover deep beauty At the core of the things we love and fear. Che Chidi Chukwumerije Poems from the inner river
WAY BACK HOME
Don‘t mourn me when I die Wave me goodbye I will be going home If I miss my way home Then I will come Back again to retry. So don’t mourn me when I die I did not come to stay I came here to find my way Back Home. Che Chidi Chukwumerije Poems from the inner river
THE OTHER CLAIRVOYANCE
Those who prepare See the future Preparation is clairvoyance Imagination is sight That’s why we call it vision Damn right Avoidance of annoyance How far into the future do you see? The next weekend? The next holiday? The next dopamine high? Pleasure alley. The next relationship? The next play? The next argument? The next promotion? The next opportunity? The time’s ever rife. The next idea? Expansion of vision. Old age? The next life? Eternity? How far into the future do you see? What are you preparing for? Che Chidi Chukwumerije Poems from the inner river
THE FORGOTTEN YOU
How could I forget you?
And forget that I forgot you?
Even this I forgot.
Forgot your face
Forget your eyes
Forgot your ways
Forgot our ties
Forgot the words we spoke in the night
Forgot the cadence of your voice’s delight
Forgot your touch, so deep, so light
I did not even remember you as a dream
You just were never there it would seem
Memory is a fast-flowing vanishing stream.

TRAVELLER TRUTHS
The Truth can only be found By those who are seeking it A mistake can only be learned from By those who are making it Full exposure is only feared By those who are faking it A road can only be understood By those who are taking it The Truth can only be echoed By those who are speaking it. Che Chidi Chukwumerije
RESTLESSNESS
Good Morning To every urge that always makes you get up; Good Morning To every discomfort that has never let up; Good Morning To every dream that lifts your head up; Good Morning To every memory that makes you fed up With lying down lamenting and self-compromising While the day is dawning and the sun is rising; Good Morning to restlessness, The twin-partner of purposefulness. Get up! and keep seeking to reach, or grasp, the Horizon - No matter what you have found before There is always something more. Che Chidi Chukwumerije

HOPE TO BE FOUND
Line your pockets with seeds of hope Find purpose when you secretly grope through your hidden emotions, touch one, touch all, no emotion is too much, no matter how intense. The deeper the grip, the closer it is to the reaper - And you are the reaper of what you sow. Empty your pockets of what you know As you walk the road leave a flower trail The Grail finds you if you seek the Grail. Che Chidi Chukwumerije
WHAT DO YOI REALLY WANT?
Imagine if the only way God could save you
Was by letting you continue to search and to suffer –
Would you still continue to beg Him to save you?
Or would you ask the devil to make you an offer?
