Speeding through the night
Nighting through the speed
Through night and speed
I sight a nocturnal light
And sometimes it just feels so right.

Poems from the inner river
DON’T LOOK BACK
Don’t look back
Just attack
Your future
And you can be very sure
You’ll grow forward
And move upward
And win onward.
As simple as it sounds to you,
Yet it is true.

Poems from the inner river
A friend
Is a person who your heart trusts
With or without a reason understandable to your mind.
And when your heart then distrusts
There is also a reason why
But sometimes only the intuition knows it at first
If the friend has told a deep lie
And then the truth and the lie
Begin to grow side by side beside each other
And the matured truth shall say to the matured lie
How strange, how hard to believe,
That you and I once thought we were friends.

Poems from the inner river
Some people come into your life
To make you doubt your worth –
Some people come into your life
To make you know your worth.
Some people’s death
Begins at their birth –
Some people’s birth
And rebirth
Continues all through their time on earth.
And the more you lose your sense of worth
The more you regain your sense of worth.

Poems from the inner river
There will come a time
When time will come early
And there will come a time
When time will come late
There will come a time
When time will come in handy
And there will come a time
Where time will become problematic
Whatever time it is
There will come a time
When you meet it
And when you need it
But have it no more.

Poems from the inner river
There are evenings
They feel like mornings
A sun, a soft sun, is arising
Inside my mind, a fine realising
Of new awakenings
And new beginnings
And new openings.

Poems from the inner river
I saw you
In my memory
And recognised you
Then I saw you
In real life
And you were a stranger.

Poems from the inner river
It‘s a quiet evening
It’s a silent ending
It’s a thoughtful reckoning
A transforming
It’s a gentle beginning.

Poems from the inner river
We have to become beautiful Inside and outside And stop roaming the earth full Of shame and pride Looking for a Paradise That is ours and ours alone to make - Until we arise At home, our success abroad is fake. Che Chidi Chukwumerije Poems from the inner river
People that want to come,
Let them come.
People who want to go,
Let them go.
Chase none, but tell some
That they should come;
However if they still want to go,
Don’t beg them, let them go
Back to where they’re coming from.
