POINTS OF VIEW

You just assume it’s true
Because it’s native to you
You just assume it‘s true
That my blue is your blue

But my blue is really very red
rises like blood rose to my head
While your blue is green instead
the leafy verdure of a flower bed

Neither your blue nor mine
Is truly blue or azure or divine
The blues we see are but in line
With our maturity, depth or shine

Yet you simply assume it’s true
Because yours is native to you
You assume that I’m seeing blue
Just because it looks blue to you.

Poems from the inner river

BLUE PLANET BECOMES GREENHOUSE

Blue planet
Becomes greenhouse
Too little room
For blossoming big mushroom
Acid rain
Too many old thoughts undecomposed
Poisoning today’s poison

Wait to exhale
The greenhouse is sweating
Hold that thought
Oxygen rapes carbon dioxide
CO2 shits O2; O3 too
Thermometer measures rising frenzy
Barometer cooling love.

LOOKING FOR ART (A Duet)

van gogh 1

There are days
Grey is my colour
My fist is an empty net
My loneliness is trapped within
My lost lines

There are nights
Black is my colour
My mind is full of melancholy
My heart remembers it’s broken
My hope gone

Blue is the island
An oasis of seeking shade
Shade of hue and colours somewhere
On the horizons of intuition
Beckoning

Yellow is the fire
A symbol of promised growth
Rays invisible yet warming
The seed pushing towards light
Determined

For in my every dark hour
Every colour is comfort
Every form is transformation
Spirit, never stop looking
For Art.

THE EARTH IS NOT MY HOME

The earth is not my home
Although she ever seems
To weave fine birds that her heights roam
Like I do in my dreams

The earth is not my home
Although she always tries
To spread bright hues across her dome
Like in my home’s blue skies

The earth is not my home.
However hard she plot
To dull my homesickness with foam
She in the end cannot

The earth is not my home
And yet I wander here
And know that when my end is come,
Strange, still I’ll shed a tear.

HEART OF LIGHT

There is gold
In your blood
Blue in you
And best of all
When you say How do you do
You mean it too –

Your gold I want not
Your blueblood I wish I could wash out
For it would only be a burden –
But you make me lighter
Each time I see how the people’s eyes shine brighter
When you enter the room.

BLUE

She told me the tongue
Is the instrument of the heart
Learn to use it well, for song
And touch, to part and to impart

I tell you this, she said
Because you make my tongue restless
Then I knew what she wanted
A drink of tenderness

Blue was that night
And underneath the mango tree
Me warm me hands in her fireside
She sang of honey

Yet, though she’s melting me, watching me
Still my admiration is voiceless, deadpan
Words of flattery would be
A waste of woman.
