BE RIGHT DO RIGHT

It‘s character that gets to heaven,
not knowledge. Knowledge might
know the way there even,
but only character can attain the height
of being, by doing,
not just by knowing.
Be right, do right, lets there be light.

WAY BACK HOME

Don‘t mourn me when I die
Wave me goodbye
I will be going home

If I miss my way home
Then I will come
Back again to retry.

So don’t mourn me when I die
I did not come to stay
I came here to find my way

Back Home.

LIGHTRISE

When more than the sun rises
And more than the moon is full
When enlightenment itself materialises
Upon and within your soul

When you awaken in the deepest sense
And the light of your spirit fills your eyes
Then shall you experience
The dawn of the morning Lightrise.

HEAVEN

To serve God, humbly and quietly
Without pomp and pageantry
Is Heaven.

Modestly and consistently,
With conviction, gratefully.
Expecting no reward,
No recognition, no award –

Because the joy of service
Is reward enough –

Is Heaven.

HAPPY PEOPLE

If you’re mad, and you know you’re mad, are you mad?
If you’re in heaven, and you’re not happy, are you in heaven?
If you have everything, and you’re empty, do you have anything?
If you have nothing, and you’re full, do you have nothing?

What’s the point in being able to explain the Laws of God to everybody, if you lack the courage to live the paths that will reveal yourself to you.

Some people have the courage to show you God, but they don’t have the courage to show you themselves. It is not God that is shrouded in strange mystery, it is the human being.

Don’t tell me about God – you can’t. Tell me about yourself. Show me who you really are. That’s difficult enough. But that’s the knowledge we reciprocally need, between and amongst ourselves, in order to be able to live happily with one another.

And happy coexistence, as ourselves, with ourselves: that is our Paradise.

IS HELL THE WAY TO HEAVEN?

Never gonna teach nobody
Never gonna preach the Word
To no damn soul

I’m damned myself
Tired of pretending
To know the way to heaven

Maybe everybody should just
Go to hell – then we’ll all grasp
The way to heaven.

TIRED OF WORDS

A moment of poems passes away
And the nostalgia doth arise
Always the same and always, I pray
That it again’ll tomorrow materialise
Cross my path, call of heaven
Breath of heaven, touch of heaven
Cross my path again, from heaven
Whisper someone, touch me, whisper, free me
Break me loose from the cycle of words
I want the Other Poem.

ROUGH FRUITS

I need everything
And I need dearth
I squeeze the leaven
To open the girth
My hour is eleven
Narrow, not straight
Rough sun having
Your fun on my mirth
When you burn my raven
Rekindle my hearth
I need Heaven
But I also need Earth.

– Che Chidi Chukwumerije.

GRACE AND POWER

Everywhere I sought it
I sought in every land
To know if Nature’d wrought it
Anywhere beneath her hand
But though I searched with all my might
And though I looked forever
I’ve never seen before my sight
An ugly flower ever.

Sometimes it might seem to be
She‘s hidden and can‘t be seen
Through land or on the sea
As though she never hath been
Yet when ever a Flower blossoms
When a Flower blooms
Pure beauty is all I see in dozens
In all my heart’s rooms.

Did Heaven ever come to earth?
Did Beauty ever give birth?
Womanhood indeed is Heaven’s flower
Heaven’s beauty, Heaven’s grace and Heaven’s power.

LEAVING

There was a girl
the fruit of her labour
Was the world
With a cry of pain and a shout of joy
She gave birth to the world
And primitive was the world

Harsh the lips that burned her nipples
Rough the tongue that broke her word
And we’re still here today
The earth is still not enough

Mother has become a stranger
The outcasts have grasped their destiny.
